Experts have been warning parents for a long time: children are overstimulated. Smartphones, television, computer or tablet and all the information that reaches children's brains through these devices can cause the Accelerated Thinking Syndrome.

The psychiatrist and writer Augusto Cury was the first to define this disorder. After conducting tests in Brazil, Spain, Romania, the United States or Serbia, the results obtained by them: 80% of adults and children suffer from SPA.

'Children do not listen' is a complaint that many parents make. They ask us something and when you are beginning to answer, they have already elaborated the next question or, you are asking them to do something and then they are unable to reproduce what you have asked them. Sometimes we think it is because they are disobedient or too restless. Nevertheless, the psychiatrist Augusto Cury explains why many behaviors of our children.

The child receives hundreds of stimuli through television, the bombardment of information is such that, according to Augusto Cury, a seven-year-old has stored more information in his memory than a seventy-year-old had a century ago. This excess of thoughts and stimuli prevents the development of the functions of intelligence, reflecting before acting, ordering ideas or empathizing with the other.

And the fact is that the excess of images means that the child does not have the capacity or the time to reflect on them, to analyze and acquire them. Children are not able to hold that much information in memory, and the brain becomes blocked, as a way of trying to use less energy. All this is called Accelerated Thinking Syndrome and presents symptoms such as:

- irritability

- headache

- frequent forgetfulness

- difficult to focus

- sleep disorders

We can think that avoiding contact with all these devices is the solution, as the saying goes 'the dog died, the rabies is over'. However, living in the age of technology is somewhat complicated so we can:

- Do not put children to bed late, they should sleep, depending on their age, between 8 and 10 hours a day.

- Do not let them use the devices before going to sleep.

- Stimulate children in the practice of physical exercise.

- Go outside and let them be in contact with nature.
