Pregnancy and anamnesis

I do not know the reasons that have prevented you from presenting until now to a doctor to be recorded as pregnant and for a good monitoring of the subsequent evolution of pregnancy, but without this step do not show responsibility for the future child; and you have no way to prevent any pregnancy problems.
Pregnancy involves a number of changes to your body, some of which are elements of early pregnancy diagnosis.
Of the symptoms that it is normal to notice include: lack of menstruation (there are situations in which menstruation is maintained for several months simultaneously with the state of pregnancy), the breasts strengthen and become more sensitive to touch, morning sickness may occur, of agitation, emotional instability, fatigue, the onset of sleepiness during the day which can go up to the reversal of sleep-wake rhythm, more frequent urination, sometimes increased appetite (both sexual and food).
These changes may or may not occur, depending on each individual woman, or only certain changes may occur with the absence of others.
However, any changes whose causes you are not aware of or that are of concern to you, it is advisable to inform the obstetrician you will choose to monitor your pregnancy.
Thus, once you have noticed that the delay is occurring, so a period of amenorrhea has been installed, it is good to show up at a gynecology office.
On this occasion you will have an anamnesis = the discussion with the gynecologist from which he will find out about the symptoms that determined you to present to the doctor, about the chronic illnesses existing in your family, about the development and your health up to the moment of the presence at the doctor - the first menstruation, the regularity of their occurrence, the history of pregnancy interruptions, of the missed pregnancies, of the previous births; the history of your and your husband's chronic conditions;
When you can specify your anxiety about the fatigue condition that persists even when you are already administering vitamin products specific to the period of pregnancy.
Later you will be examined by examination with valves, vaginal cough and / or rectal cough. You will probably undergo a cytobacteriological examination of the vaginal secretion and an ultrasound (ultrasound with the endovaginal probe can determine the existence of a pregnancy at the earliest 4-5 weeks of its evolution).
After finding the pregnancy and confirming its presence in the uterus, you will be asked to perform the following investigations:

  • blood group and your Rh and your spouse (if any group or Rh incompatibility is found, during the whole pregnancy, the appearance of anti-group or anti-Rh antibodies will be followed, and if they occur, quantitative dosing, because from certain concentrations may interfere with the normal development of the fetus);
  • the hemolithogram;
  • summary of urine or uroculture;
  • blood glucose, liver transaminases, urea, creatinine, uric acid
  • VDRL or RBW test (for syphilis) and HIV.
These tests are included in the mandatory set of tests that the pregnant woman must perform during the first trimester of pregnancy and, with reference from the family doctor, they are free.
From doctor to doctor, you may be indicated to perform:
  • antibodies to hepatitis B and C
  • tests for toxoplasmosis, chlamydia, cytomegalvirus, herpesvirus and rubella (diseases that can have adverse effects on the fetus).
They are not settled by the health insurance company in Romania, so you will have to pay them. Once noted by a gynecologist, he or she will recommend a monthly visit (in case there are no problems) to the gynecology office, or more often, depending on the problems that arise.
During these visits you will also be able to recommend other types of tests if deemed necessary (testing of three markers in maternal blood, improperly known as "triple test"; markers being: - alpha-fetal protein, chorionic gonadotrophin human beta and unconjugated estriol.
The value of this test is indicative, the results are correlated with a multitude of other parameters to calculate an eventual risk of development of various genetic disorders; an increased risk does not imply certainty, but requires further investigation in this regard).

"Land of mindfulness" - a series of books for children

Today a lot is written about the alarming pace of life, constant rush, lack of time and energy for simply experiencing fleeting moments. The world, which is very demanding in this respect, does not miss our children. They too are caught up in a whirlwind of rivalry, inexorable pace of life. And, unfortunately, it has a huge impact on them. They are defenseless and unaware of threats. Unfortunately, we also have a problem with our parents. That is why mindfulness training is so often recommended today that allows you to start living truly.

"Land of Mindfulness" is a carefully published series for children, from which adults can also draw full. It teaches you how to consciously and prudently perform basic activities - e.g. eat, taste dishes, focus on texture, to chew well on the one hand, and not eat stress on the other.

It is also devoted to taming emotions - for example, anger in such a way as to allow it to be expressed, but at the same time keeping it in check. It is also about sport, about the art of losing, about small artists looking for beauty in simple things and about how to cultivate a sense of value.

The characters are chosen so that the child can identify with them, and the colorful drawings catch the eye and allow you to focus on content even better.

The author of the series - Agnieszka Pawłowska is a certified teacher of MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction). She completed a full teacher study completed with certification - under the patronage of The Institute for Mindfulness-Based Approaches - IMA.

Our four-year-old girl studied the books with great care! :)

    I would recommend!

More than 20 fun games to expand the vocabulary of children by age

One of the questions that parents ask ourselves the most, the unknown that always haunts our minds, the question for which we do not have our own answer is ... How does my son behave when I am not in front? And it is that I believe that no parent could say with 100% confidence what the behavior of their son or daughter is like in their absence.

We always resort to that phrase of 'How much I would like to see you through a little hole' ... But the truth is that we don't always find that 'little hole'. Therefore, I propose you a very useful technique to know how your child is when you are not with him.

Why do parents have that need to know what our children are like or what they do when we are not with them? Actually, we would like to know to check if the education we are giving them is correct or the one we want to convey to you. But we also seek to know if our sons and daughters are happy, if they relate correctly and if they behave in accordance with the values that are transmitted from the family.

But, as I always say, in education 2 + 2 are not always 4. When we educate we have to wait for the results in the medium-long term. Let's be pacient to see the changes or to appreciate the result of our behaviors and guidelines with our children.

A good form of power check children's behavior without our presence it is through observation. And a good time to put it into practice is a family trip. It can be a vacation, a family getaway, a day retreat ...

The idea is that on a family trip we spend 24 hours together. It is the ideal situation to see their behavior with other members of the family, with people outside the family, how they behave in public places, restaurants, museums, shops, attractions, etc. That is to say, we have multiple situations where we can observe you.

I highlight several things that in my view are important:

    1. Observe children's behavior towards other people and the type of participation they have in the trip. This means that we must be attentive to if they establish relationships with other children, if they enjoy the activities, if they want to participate in a positive and proactive way, if they propose things during the trip, etc. This will give us an idea of how they cope at other times with the different activities they do in their day to day.

    2. Observe that the educational traits they should have according to their age are integrated or not. That is, if they ask or demand, if they use 'please' and 'thank you', if they establish relationships on the trip, if they have proactive or reactive behaviors, if they provide solutions to possible inconveniences ...

    3. View if the values on which you base your family education emerge. The importance of the different values changes according to the family, but we can look at traits such as: if they are generous, if they help those who need it, if they appreciate what is done for them, if they are capable of putting themselves in the shoes of others ...

There is one aspect that I want to highlight: if you are observing do not correct. If you call their attention, they will modify their behavior and will not allow you to assess their behavior as a whole. The best thing is that, after observing something that you did not like, wait a few days to be able to talk with your children and correct what you think should change.

Personally, I find it very enriching for children to travel as a family. In addition to being an ideal activity to observe their behaviors and attitudes, it is the best time to enjoy them since during the school year the periods of time that can be shared are very short.

Musical training is becoming more and more important not only within the school curriculum but is also gaining followers as an extracurricular activity. Due to the growing interest of parents in bringing their children closer to musicIt is interesting to know how we can awaken children's interest in music, when is the ideal time for them to start studying music or how we should approach it.

The human being is attracted to what excites him, that brings back memories, that he can relate to other things or that challenges him. This is how we can bring children closer to music: they will enjoy it if it is familiar to them, if it reminds them of their mother or father, if it is funny, if they can remember the melody or if they simply enjoy it.

One of the questions what else parents ask themselves is, When can children start with music? The child's first contact with the world of sounds and music is made almost without realizing it, through the mother's voice. It doesn't matter if he sings well or badly, if he has taught singing lessons or has not sung in 20 years.

The important thing is what you communicate with your voice. Singing to our children produces a lasting association that will last possibly a lifetime. In this way, learning music is done first and foremost by voice. It is the most affordable and communicative instrument we have.

To begin a more formal teaching of music, you do not have to jump into the void and sign up for the first music school you can find. It is important to start at home earlier, sing, play, attend a concert, listen to music ... In short, transmit to the child that music is something valuable.

Later, when we have achieved that motivation and encouragement in the child, we can search school and teacher. There are different methods and it is advisable to look carefully for a teacher who can work with the capacities that the child has at each evolutionary moment. Not just any method, nor any teacher.

Regarding the most appropriate time or age to start studying music. It is advisable to start before the age of 8 to make an approach to music. From this moment on, we consider that the child has the psychomotor development and the capacity for sufficient effort to undertake the study of an instrument.

    Child with hospitalized brother

A Parents Worst Nightmare. Kids Hospital

Actress Halle Berry confessed she desperately wants a baby. Mulatra said he would choose his partners based on their willingness to become parents.
Read the whole article in: Ziarul

What should parents pay attention to when their children are between 1-3 years old? When deciding on the second child, parents must feel ready. The idea of having a baby is wrong because an older child wanted a brother. Because the child may not want his brother when he thinks that he has been thrown into the background. Instead of expecting consistency from the child, the parent who is in a difficult situation should remember that the child is the child and be able to empathize. The parent's wish for a sibling can also be used by the parent in a positive way, and the adaptation process can be easier than anticipated when prepared before the birth of a sibling.
Parents should not take sides in sibling fights, and should not expect them to behave older than they think they are children. In addition, the older sibling should not be constrained by excessive tolerance and the older sibling, the older sibling may experience a feeling of exclusion. Some situations that require care for the younger brother should be explained to the older brother and this misconception should be avoided that he or she is not loved.
What can be done in order not to increase jealousy between brothers, not to damage the sense of trust, to prevent jealousy of siblings?First of all, regardless of the age difference between them, both children should be remembered. Sometimes parents, sometimes others, take part in behaviors that take sides between children. The use of expressions such as büy you are older, be understanding ”and“ he is smaller a may lead to the idea that the child is not loved in the child. When the baby is born, the excessive interest of those who come to see it may also lead to the idea that the older child is not loved. Observing this situation and being consistent with the love and care of the older child (not shifting the attention to the younger brother) may prevent jealousy and fights between siblings.
When parents express an opinion that includes rightful / unfair judgment in siblings, the idea that the other is preferred among siblings may result in anger and pro-fights in the child. Not to compare, not to change the lifestyle of the older child after birth, to ask for help in matters related to his brother, to show love, to be careful when talking with the child also helps prevent jealousy.
What does the older child think and feel? The nature of children is self-centered. In the following years, this situation develops and changes in the direction of accepting, socializing and sharing the other. The older child is happy to think that his family brought him a sibling in the first period after becoming a sibling. However, in the later period, the brother's attention attracts the idea of exclusion in the older child. He thinks that he is not liked, that he is inadequate and that his family wants a brother to cover this deficiency. In such periods, aggression, disobedience, lower wetting, not being separated from the parent's side, being in the dark, inward closure can be seen. If these symptoms occur, you should seek professional help.

Cradle or bassinet for the newborn?

Here we have one of the first questions from new parents. Cradle or bassinet? ... or both? On this issue there is a lot of difference of opinion: some prefer bassinets for their price and ease of movement, however, they will soon become too small and will soon have to change to a crib; Others however directly opt for a minicot or the definitive crib with some adapters.

Difficult choice that we will try to make you have a little clearer after telling you in some advantages and disadvantages that parents find with these two options.

The good thing about using the baby bassinet:

1- It is much cheaper than the crib.

2- More comfortable to move and move through the different rooms.

3- It is more collected and more comfortable for the newborn, who prefers small spaces at first.

4- It can be placed more easily in the parents' room, as it is smaller.

5- It is more comfortable when holding the baby because it is not as deep as a crib

    Disadvantages of the bassinet:

1- It is more unstable than a crib, so if there are small siblings or animals in the house that can unbalance the crib, it is better not to choose this option

2- She is immediately small and you have to go to the crib. So the price in the end is double.

3- In a short time it will be one more thing to accumulate.

4- When the baby begins to sit or sit up it is dangerous, since it is shallower than a crib.

    Advantages of the crib:

1- Although at first it is more expensive, when you only buy one during the entire baby stage, it will be cheaper.

2- Some have various heights, so when the baby is small it can be raised higher so that we do not have to bend down so much to pick it up, and later lower it so that it does not get out of the crib.

3- Although it is too big for a newborn baby, there are some reducers to put inside the crib and make the baby feel more protected.

4- Some turn into a mini-bed and it is very comfortable to later have to go from the crib to the bed.

    Disadvantages of the crib:

1- It is bigger and therefore sometimes we may not fit inside our room.

2- The child feels lost in them when he is very young, although as we have already said there are reducers for cribs.

3- You have to be careful with the separation of the bars, which must be less than 6 centimeters and buy a protector so that the head does not slip between them.

4- Verify that the crib paint does not have lead as it is toxic.

5- You must choose a hard mattress, and anti-suffocation, in case the baby turns over, although this inconvenience can also occur in the bassinet.
