The doubts of women in the postpartum

Postpartum is a sweet and sour time for women. Sweet, because after nine months, the new mom finally has her baby in her arms. Bitter, because it is not an easy stage for women. In addition to the physical pain, fears and emotional fatigue are added, which affects the woman's mood and strength.

Suddenly motherhood doesn't seem like a bed of roses. Along with the pain of the wrong, those of the episiotomy and the consequences of epidural anesthesia, certain doubts and fears appear: being able to breastfeed the newborn, understand his cries, heal the baby's navel, try to sleep.

Postpartum is a great test for women. Even more so in the case of new mothers. The fatigue that creeps in after childbirth is compounded by hormonal changes that lead to sudden changes in mood. But what are the things that keep women awake during this stage? The matron Rita Salvador, de Cummater tells us that the mother's protective instinct makes them have to do with the newborn:

'Mothers care a lot about that the baby is feeding correctly and that they can develop breastfeeding if it is their choice. '

The newborn feeding it is the main concern of women after childbirth. Being able to breastfeed the baby correctly. For this reason, the main problems in the postpartum stage have to do with breastfeeding: doubts about whether the baby is feeding well, if he is sucking correctly, if he can latch onto the breast, if he is drinking enough milk. Breast discomfort, such as mastitis or cracks in the nipple, may also appear.

However, postpartum problems are not just the doubts and discomfort that come with breastfeeding. Rita Salvador She tells us that women are also very concerned about getting back to their previous life:

'Then, at the mother level, the return to normal functions from day to day and being able to manage the care of the newborn and of themselves'.

Regaining figure and weight, dedicating a few minutes a day to personal care, recovering your relationship with your partner, fighting against fatigue and sudden changes in mood ... Without a doubt, a complex stage but full of stimuli for the woman.

Hyperlipidemia in children

Hyperlipidemia in children

Hyperlipidemia is an abnormal increase in blood lipid levels. If this condition starts in childhood, the risk of developing serious health problems increases significantly in adulthood. Some causes of hyperlipidemia in children can be controlled by diet and a healthy lifestyle.
The cases in which the children were detected with a too high level of cholesterol and triglycerides (fatty substances synthesized by the body from food) in the circulatory system increased mainly with the incidence of obesity in the 21st century. Young children with hyperlipidemia may suffer, throughout their lives, from heart disease, arterial disease (atherosclerosis) and other cardiovascular problems.

Causes of hyperlipidemia in children

Since hyperlipidemia is a problem specific to adulthood (over 45 years), the causes of excess fat in the blood are, in the case of children, predominantly hereditary.
Other factors associated with the onset of this disease among the little ones are the excessive consumption of animal fats and sugar (sweets, unhealthy foods) and certain conditions such as diabetes, thyroid gland dysfunction, kidney and hepatobiliary diseases. Hyperlipidemia has no symptoms.

Diagnosis of hyperlipidemia in children

Because hyperlipidemia cannot be detected based on symptoms, experts recommend performing blood tests starting at the age of 2 years, especially if there is a family history in this regard.
Routine medical check-up is indicated up to the age of 5, respectively 8-10 years, if a predisposition to hyperlipidemia is found. Overweight or diagnosed children with metabolic, cardiac, renal or hepatic disorders need permanent specialized monitoring.
Most tests measure LDL (bad cholesterol), HDL (good cholesterol), total cholesterol in the body, and triglyceride levels. For children, total cholesterol should not exceed 170 mg / dl, and the minimum LDL threshold is 110mg / dl.

Treatment of hyperlipidemia in children

Doctors usually prescribe a diet based on increased intake of quality nutrients and recommend enrolling the child in a sports program. The family is advised to actively participate in the formation of a healthy lifestyle, through correct nutritional choices and more physical activity.
Drug treatment is required only in advanced stages of hyperlipidemia.

Ocean's Eight

Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock) is released from jail after serving a five-year sentence for fraud. She has been using her time to plan, down to the tiniest detail, the biggest jewel theft in history. Now she's out, she needs to put together a team of specialists who can pull off the robbery.

The first on Debbie's list is Lou (Cate Blanchett), an old friend and former partner in crime. Lou specialises in finding the right people for the right job. Next is Rose Weil (Helena Bonham Carter), a fashion designer whose career has peaked but who still has some talent. The third is Amita (Mindy Kaling), a jewellery maker, and the fourth is a computer hacker called Nine Ball (Rihanna). The fifth member of the team is master pickpocket Constance Wong (Awkwafina), and the sixth is a master fence named Tammy (Sarah Paulson). The seventh and final member of team comes in at the end of the movie.

Debbie's plan is to steal a diamond necklace worth $150 million from the neck of a socialite named Daphne Kluger (Anne Hathaway) at the upcoming Met Gala Costume Ball. They put their intricate plans into motion and allow for every contingency. This includes setting up Debbie's not-so-nice ex-boyfriend Claude Becker (Richard Armitage), the man responsible for sending Debbie to jail. On the night of the Ball, Debbie and her team play their parts flawlessly, stealing the diamonds and escaping.
Unfortunately for the team, insurance investigator John Frazier (James Corden) is hot on their trail. It's up to Debbie to find a solution.

Crime; revenge

Ocean's Eight has some violence. For example:

  • A woman pushes up against a man. She threatens him by holding a toothbrush with a blade on the end at his groin. She then holds the blade against the man's neck and cuts a button from his jacket collar while leaving him uninjured.
  • A woman is deliberately given a drug that causes nausea. The woman runs towards a toilet and we hear the sounds of her vomiting violently.

Content that may disturb children

Under 5
There's nothing of concern for this age group apart from the violent scenes described above.

From 5-8
In addition to the violent scenes mentioned above, children aged 5-8 years might be disturbed by a reference to a woman being bitten by 'chiggers', which burrow under the skin and lay eggs that hatch out.

From 8-13
Children in this age group might also be disturbed by the scenes described above.

Over 13
Nothing of concern

Sexual references

Ocean's Eight has some sexual references. For example:

  • A woman who is physically threatening a man says to him, 'In jail they'd call you a pretty boy'.
  • A woman jokes with another woman, asking her whether her plan to steal jewels is a proposal.
  • A young woman argues with her mother. Her mother says, 'This is why you have no husband'.
  • A woman mentions being 'deflowered'.
  • Two women look at a dating app, and they seem to like what they see.
  • A young man boasts about looking down the front of a woman's dress while serving her at a dinner party.

Alcohol, drugs and other substances

Ocean's Eight shows some use of substances. For example:

  • A woman openly smokes cannabis.
  • Characters drink wine and spirits socially.
  • Several drops of a drug that causes nausea are added to a woman's food. This makes her vomit violently.
  • A man talks about smoking 'grass' while at work.
  • Several women add water to bottles of vodka. A woman says that drunk people won't tell the difference between real vodka and watered-down vodka.
  • A woman pours a martini for her dead brother at a mausoleum and leaves it untouched on a seat.

Nudity and sexual activity

Ocean's Eight has some nudity and sexual activity. For example:

  • Several scenes show images of women wearing low-cut tops that reveal cleavage. We see the sides of a woman's breasts through a gap in the sides of her dress.
  • A man and woman kiss passionately.
  • A woman dressed in underwear straddles a man's lap. He's fully clothed. She slaps his face hard and then kisses him passionately on the lips.
  • A woman in sexy clothing lies in bed with a man. He's wearing boxer shorts and is handcuffed to the bedhead. The woman leaves the room for a short time. No sexual activity is seen.

Product placement

Ocean's Eight displays major brand names including Cartier, Apple, Subway, Toyota, BMW, Nutella and Smirnoff.

Coarse language

Ocean's Eight has some coarse language.

Ideas to discuss with your children

Ocean's Eight is an action crime comedy. Debbie Ocean and her team pull off their robbery with flare, fashion and intelligence, and without the use of guns or a single punch. The movie has a high-calibre cast and the wide age range of the actors will appeal to a wide-ranging audience.

This movie is best suited to an older adolescent and adult audience. It isn't recommended for children under 13 years because of its coarse language, sexual references and scenes, and drug use.

These are the main messages from Ocean's Eight:

  • Crime can pay very well. You won't get caught if you're clever and plan your crime well.
  • Teamwork and careful planning lead to success.

8 diaper bag essentials you need when you have a toddler

When I think of toddlers I think of messiness, tantrums, constant hunger, and diaper rash. They're goofy, silly and often fun to be around...IF you're prepared to handle minor emergencies like hunger, thirst, and spills.

If you have a toddler you know that your diaper bag is more important than ever. I have a short list of toddler diaper bag essentials, and I never leave home without everything on that list.

Long after the infant days are over there are a few more items that you will need in order to make your life easier, happier, and run more smoothly. Pack these items in your diaper bag and your toddler will be a happy kiddo.

1. Change of clothes

I always carry an extra set of clothes. You never know when your toddler will have an accident, get covered in paint, or will decide to pour a whole cup of juice down her shirt. The extra clothes have been very useful when we find a splash pad unexpectedly on a trip to the playground or when we decide ice cream is the perfect afternoon snack.

2. Wet bag

Wet bags have so many uses, from holding dirty cloth diapers to bringing wet swimsuits home. I use my wet bag mostly in my diaper bag. I keep my toddler's change of clothes in it, and when I need to change her, I swap out the dirty clothes for the clean clothes. I don't have to worry about wet, dirty clothes contaminating the rest of the diaper bag contents. Of course I also pack extra diapers or underwear and wipes.

3. Aquaphor Baby Fast Relief Diaper Rash Paste

Even when your toddler is out of diapers she may still occasionally experience diaper rash from any changes in her diet, chafing, or sitting in a soiled diaper for too long. You've probably used Aquaphor Baby Healing Ointment for a variety of purposes in the past, but did you know Aquaphor Baby now offers a Fast Relief Diaper Rash Paste?

I pack my Aquaphor Baby Fast Relief Diaper Rash Paste in a little bag with diapers and wipes so I always have it when I need it. It provides diaper rash relief quickly and is super easy to apply and clean off. I love that it is hypoallergenic and free of parabens, talc, and fragrances so I can feel good about what I'm using to protect and heal my toddler's bottom.

4. Candy

Look, I'm realistic about my limitations as a mom, and there are some times where one just needs to resort to bribery in order to complete an errand. I now carry a few Dum Dum lollipops in my diaper bag in case I need to distract my toddler for a few extra minutes, like when the bank line is extra long or we are waiting an extra 20 minutes in the doctor's office before seeing the doctor. Never underestimate the power of a lollipop!

5. Snacks

I don't let my children snack too often, but there are definitely times where we have to get a few extra things done and I want to wait until we get home to eat lunch. For those times I always pack a protein bar and some sort of crunchy, dry snack.

6. Portable snack cup

This deserves its own item because it is crucial to any mom's sanity. These Munchkin snack cups have special lids that allow a toddler to easily access a snack but not to easily spill it everywhere. I pride myself on having a clean car, and I credit that mostly to these snack cups. Always pack your toddler's crunchy, dry snack in a portable snack cup. Sometimes I just bring an empty snack cup in case I buy a snack on the go.

7. Water cup

I never leave home without a Thermos Funtainer water cup filled to the top with ice and water. Hydration is important, especially for toddlers who run nonstop. I love that the water stays cold all day.

8. Band-Aids

So many boo-boos, real and imagined, magically feel better with the power of a Band-Aid. You will often find my diaper bag well stocked with Band-Aids, from Minions ones to superheroes to Frozen. A little Elsa Band-Aid has saved more than one tantrum in this family!

Whether you go out for an hour, need to run a million errands, or spend the day by the pool, don't forget to pack these diaper bag essentials. You'll be happy you did.

How to discover the hidden talents of the small child

Like any devoted parent, you want to discover the hidden talents of your child since he was very young, to help him cultivate them for a bright future. Fortunately, you can see the first indications of the child's aptitude before school age. Find out what are the main directions to consider and how to recognize your puppy's calves through his gestures and behavior.

Not all children display their hidden talents for everyone to see. Others have great qualities that some adults interpret as indiscipline, exaggerated energy and naughty. Psychologists and other specialists in child psychology have centralized all the manifestations of preschoolers in terms of directly proportional skills.

The main types of intelligence

Will your child be a brilliant mathematician, illustrious philologist or renowned artist? Intelligence is often viewed from the point of view of outstanding school results, in which arithmetic logic plays a central role. In fact, your little one can be an extremely intelligent adult if he is not good at numbers. The types of intelligence, according to the psychology treatises, are:

  • Mathematical / Logic Intelligence: special mathematical skills and ease of operating complex logic systems;
  • Linguistic intelligence: an acute sensitivity to the meaning of words and the interpretation of language;
  • Musical intelligence: the ability to understand and create music (musicians, dancers);
  • Spatial intelligence: the ability to create in mind and graphically render images (painters, architects, designers, sculptors);
  • Kinesthetic bodily intelligence: the ability to use one's body in expressing emotions (actors, dancers, etc.);
  • Interpersonal intelligence: the talent to decipher and understand the behaviors, desires and motivations of others (politicians, spiritual leaders, therapists, teachers, etc.);
  • Intrapersonal intelligence: the ability to understand and intuit the emotions and thoughts of others (counselors, poets, writers, etc.);
  • Naturalistic intelligence: the ability to classify plants, minerals, animals and all types of flora and fauna.

Now that you know which are the main categories in which your child's talents can fall, you can carefully observe the signals that his behavior transmits in daily life.

Deciphering the child's hidden talents through gestures

Pay close attention to the various gestures and expressions of your child. They are the key that opens up the hidden talents you want to decipher.

Your child loves to order items

Have you noticed that your little one has an obvious pleasure in pairing socks, aligning cars by size, or grouping various objects by their color? Most likely he has an acute sense of order and you are proud of his organized character.

Your child could be an analytical thinker, a very good observer of the details. These are primary indicators of mathematical and scientific skills. To help him cultivate this talent, ask him to help you arrange the dishes. Buy him a plastic body with several small storage spaces, where he can arrange shells, stones, buttons and other things he can count, sort and classify.

Your child has a rich speech

Does your baby talk a lot and diversify, has a rich vocabulary, likes to tell and make few grammatical and pronunciation errors? It means that his speech is also very alert, he always wants to have the last word and looks for arguments to contradict you.

Your child is definitely special. He will have a successful school and professional career, he will be attracted by the great circles of people, where he will put into practice the power of persuasion (conviction) with determination. Law, journalism, diplomacy and other such professions are excellent for his abilities. Help him perfect his native talent through reading or discussions in which you change your mind.

Your child handles everything he catches

Does he have a crazy thirst for manipulating surrounding objects to understand how they work? Has he dismantled your watches and phones, hoping he will restore them himself? It means that the lego is his favorite game and he is fascinated by the machines.

Space intelligence definitely characterizes it. His skills are suited to a future mechanic, engineer, architect, inventor or scientist. Encourage him to build robots, machines, or models. Manual work cultivates his talent.

Your child is a dreamer

Does your child spend his time playing mother and father, imagining different scenarios, painting or sharing his creative ideas? It means that it tends to use objects in an unconventional way and launches theories that leave you speechless.

Your little visionary seems unable to concentrate and is often with his head in the clouds. This is not a misfortune, on the contrary: its creative potential is monumental. He can become a great artist, actor, writer, director or fashion designer. He will be a perfect advertising specialist, always having innovative ideas that many do not even dream of.

Surround him with fairy tales, music, go to theater shows together, and propose to him to put on the stage himself stories, in front of the family.

Your child cannot stay

He likes to do everything on the go. He has an overflowing energy, for which many consider him a spoiled brat. He gets bored faster than normal and loves to spend time outdoors.

Your little one is definitely a future specialist in bodily kinesthesia, absorbing information through activities that involve action and movement. Will perform in dance, sports and other professions that involve special motor skills. The perfect skills promise a successful career in the manufacturing or gastronomy professions. Do not restrict their freedom of movement and allow them to enjoy diverse and demanding activities.

Your child is a bishop

He always has strong opinions about everything and can't stand to be told what to do. Its dominant character can designate a successful future leader, a true leader in the business, political, community or other groups organized by people.

Whenever you can, let him decide certain things and give him tasks that involve responsibility.
