I remember as a child how in a movie there was a woman who would wake up sleepwalking through the house and find a door in her house that was not there when she was awake. Through the door she discovered new people and more rooms, but she could only enter through it when she was asleep. That had a great impact on me, and I remember that, in those years, being a sleepwalker was something that was perceived with great concern on the part of parents.

My mother spoke in her dreams, and I loved hearing what she said, although it almost never made sense; in the morning he didn't remember anything. Currently, one of my twin daughters is a sleepwalker, and the other is not, so I don't think it's hereditary. In any case, having a sleepwalking child is quite an adventure.

The one who is a sleepwalker is a restless ass that does not stop neither day nor night; she turns so many times between the sheets that we have ever had to rescue her from the mummy effect. It also has other peculiarities such as: being more emotionally immature, occasionally peeing in bed at almost 7 years old, and snores like a brown bear at night, which prevents it from fully resting; that is to say, the complete sleepwalker manual.

The first time we saw her get up, we thought she was awake and wanted to pee, since there is no night that she doesn't get up a couple of times to go to the bathroom, much to the dismay of my husband, who is the one who notices the situation because I normally sleep like I've been hit in the head with a hammer.

So, the poor thing got up every night to take her to the bathroom, because despite passing in front of the bathroom door, she comes directly to our room. However, one of the days when I woke up, I saw the girl standing next to our bed looking at us with wide eyes, not doing or saying anything, she was just looking at us. He had come as a ghost and there he had stayed. With my hair like spikes, I woke up my husband and said quietly: "Honey, look at the girl, I think she's a sleepwalker, because otherwise it is giving me a very bad feeling ”. As if it were a specter, he stared at us without making any gesture; We asked him if he wanted to go to the bathroom but he didn't hear us, or at least he didn't answer. In the end we decided to sit her down to pee, and when she finished she quietly went to bed. The next day he did not remember anything.

This episode is repeated more or less once a week, always the same, although there are times when he comes running and stands in front of us to tell us anything incomprehensible of the kind: I have already put the earrings on the cat; or dad I have my feet turned upside down. I can assure you that it gives a tremendous repel, but they have assured us that there is nothing dangerous in it, apart from the fact that it can give us a cardiac arrest of fright.

The doctor told us that it was very common in children between 4 and 7 years old, and that it used to happen in adolescence. He recommended us not to wake her up so as not to scare her, although the myth that she can die of fright when she wakes up is not true, it is also advisable to clear the path that she travels to avoid falls, take her back to her bed, and close the doors with a lock, it was not Unless he changed course and wanted to go pee in the neighbor's bathroom. Otherwise everything he does and what he says is quite comical, so almost every night we have a guaranteed show, although my husband would prefer that I wake up from time to time and not always him.

Sprouts for children - winter and year-round resistance! When there are less and less fresh vegetables every week in markets, there is time for sprouts, which with a little desire can become a reliable vitamin bomb, a source of fresh microelements and enzymes - necessary for children and adults in the winter season.

Sprouts grown on the windowsill in an apartment or at home do not require special conditions, and their health benefits cannot be overestimated. They can use them already 10 month old babies!

Sprouts or what?

Sprouts are small plants that, after ensuring the right temperature and humidity, grow from seeds. Due to the fact that seeds are a source of food reserves for a growing plant, they provide a lot of vitamins and valuable nutrients, which are described below.

Young plants in home farming can be obtained from vegetables - radishes, broccoli, legumes - lentils, beans, peas, as well as cereals - wheat, barley, spelled.

What are the benefits of sprouts?

  • they are fresh - not exposed to temperature, such as mortars, which after pasteurization naturally lose many valuable nutrients,
  • they are tasty - different types of sprouts differ in taste,
  • low calorie and well absorbed,
  • easy to grow - just spend two minutes a day to get plants with amazing properties after a few days
  • cheap,
  • always at hand
  • organically grown and in safe conditions
  • available in many varieties - radish, sunflower, alfalfa sprouts, etc.
  • observation of germinating seeds and grains - it's just fun - kids love watching the seeds grow and change.

Why is it worth to eat sprouts?

The sprouts have been repeatedly and thoroughly examined, viewed under a microscope. They have often stunned scientists who have admitted that these young plants are in many ways a better option because they are a richer option than "grown vegetables". They provide so many vitamins, microelements and nutrients that every "syrup for immunity" available with many unnecessary additives such as sugar, sodium benzoate, aspartame, dyes, etc. - can hide.

Sprouts provide, among others:

  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin K
  • Vitamin E
  • lutein,
  • beta-carotene,
  • iron,
  • zinc,
  • unsaturated fatty acids,
  • sprouts are also a very valuable source of protein - lentil or radish sprouts provide up to 26% protein.

Sprouts are easily digestible and easily absorbed.

How do sprouts affect immunity?

Young plants grown from seeds and grains:

  • act bactericidal (sprouts of rapeseed plants, lentils)
  • act antiviral (e.g. lentil sprouts, cress),
  • act anti-inflammatory (e.g. radish sprouts).

Systematic eating of sprouts, especially in the winter, allows you to provide valuable B vitamins, which shortages may occur in winter. It also strengthens the immune system.

How to grow sprouts for children?

They are on the market special containers known as sprouts, which are beautifully made, aesthetic and are a great kitchen decoration. The problem is that they cost a little (prices usually start from 100 zlotys).

They can be replaced reaching for the mayonnaise jars, using gauze instead of a nut attached with a recipe. And that's all!

The first step to growing sprouts is purchase of seeds, preferably clearly marked "for germination". When we have seeds, we measure the amount taking into account the needs of the family and soak for the night in a boiled jar, closing the jar with lignin. Seeds drink water quickly, so there should be enough water, preferably twice as much as seeds.

The next day we rinse the seeds with cool water (without removing the lignin cover) and pour the water out of the jar thoroughly - this is important because the water left in the jar will cause the seeds to begin to mold. We set the jar so that any excess water flows out.

Every day, flush the seeds at least 4 times, taking care to remove excess water thoroughly. After about 3-7 days (depending on the types of seeds and the conditions that will be created for them), green small plants will appear from the seeds - i.e. sprouts. It's time to reach for the contents of the jar. We eat the sprouts whole - seeds and plants.

Some seeds - sunflower sprouts, radishes and cress do not need to be soaked. Just pour them on moist lignin.

Sprouts after drying can be stored in the fridge for about 5 days. They are great as an addition to sandwiches, salads, salads, cocktails.

Sprouts: hygiene and controversy

Some sources warn against eating sprouts and growing them for fear of developing bacteria that love moisture and heat. Are these reasonable doubts?

You should pay attention to the hygiene of home farming - brew a jar well, and also carefully pour water to get a healthy and valuable source of vitamins. In addition, just before serving sprouts should be thoroughly rinsed under water.

The long tradition of growing sprouts and the experience of parents around the world contradicts the claim that eating sprouts is dangerous, indicates something completely different: namely, that it is a great way to build immunity.

Read how unaware parents spoil the immunity of children.

The kiss is an expression of affection, affection and love towards loved ones and when it comes to our children, it causes us to 'eat them with kisses' as the well-known phrase says. And we not only do it with kisses on the cheeks, forehead, body, but also directly on the mouth, this site being somewhat controversial for many people from a psychological, sexual, religious, cultural and also health point of view. Do you want to know what diseases are transmitted to children with kisses on the mouth?

When we kiss on the mouth, even if it is what they call 'a peck', we transmit saliva to the baby's mouth, saliva being a clear liquid that is manufactured by the salivary glands inside our mouth 24 hours a day, or that is, every day. It contains a large amount of water and chemical substances that provide us with many benefits, among which we have:

- Helps to moisten food to be able to grind it with the teeth and later ingest it easily.

- It also helps their digestion, thanks to the enzymes contained in saliva.

- Moisten the tongue, which allows us to differentiate the flavors.

- Keeps the inside of the mouth clean and to rinse the teeth, however it is necessary to brush them several times a day.

- And thanks to the enzymes present in saliva, we can fight infections of the oral cavity.

However, despite all these advantages when we kiss on the mouth, we can transmit 80 million microorganisms, making the tongue the largest habitat for microorganisms in the oral cavity

Through kisses we can transmit certain viral or bacterial diseases that can range from mild to serious and lethal to health and life, which I will describe below.

- cavities
Tooth decay in children can be caused by multiple factors: microorganisms in saliva through kisses on the mouth, lack of proper hygiene of the oral cavity, especially teeth and ingestion of food, or the consumption of sugar or flour based drinks.

In children, they are frequently caused by the habit of falling asleep with bottles in their mouths. 80% of school-age children can have at least 1 decayed tooth. I therefore recommend an evaluation by the pediatric dentist when the first tooth erupts, who will recommend adequate oral hygiene measures.

- Herpes
This disease is caused by the herpes simplex virus, which can be found in saliva, especially in immunosuppressed patients. It produces bullous lesions inside the oral cavity, on the lips or outside of them and they are so painful that they are known as hot flashes or labial fires.

The symptoms can be single or cluster lesions (hot flashes), fever, general malaise, loss of appetite, headache and vomiting, often meriting hospitalization of the patient due mainly to dehydration or total absence of food intake for the same pain in the area. The recommendation is to go to your pediatrician to indicate the most appropriate treatment.

- Flu process
It is an infectious disease produced by a virus called influenza, which is transmitted through saliva and respiratory secretions (coughing, sneezing) and mainly affects the nose, throat and lungs. Symptoms can be general malaise, fever, runny nose, loss of appetite and dry cough with or without lower respiratory compromise (lungs).

If there are no complications the flu can last between 3 and 10 days, but if there are complications it can last up to three weeks or more. I recommend going to the pediatrician for proper treatment and avoiding complications and, above all, they should not self-medicate.

- Mononucleosis
Viral disease produced by two viruses called cytomegalovirus and epstein bar, which can be transmitted by saliva and is known as kissing disease. It is a disease that produces a lot of weakness and general discomfort, since it depresses the immune system.

In addition, fever, loss of appetite, drowsiness, generalized myalgia (muscle aches), abdominal pain, lymphadenopathy (swollen lymph nodes), can sometimes cause gastrointestinal symptoms. The virus can cause hepatosplenomegaly, which is inflammation of the liver and spleen.

The treatment is symptomatic and must be evaluated by a pediatrician for its correct diagnosis. Its symptoms can be prolonged if the due rest is not kept, since the virus can remain active in the body for a long time or for life and become active when there is decrease of the immune system.

- Coronavirus Covid-19
New strain of the coronavirus family discovered in the year 2.019. It is a zoonotic virus, but it can also be transmitted from human to human through saliva and respiratory secretions (coughing and sneezing), which has facilitated its spread worldwide (Pandemic 2.020).

The symptoms can range from a cold-like picture: headache, myalgia (muscle pain), sore throat, fever and dry cough and can be aggravated by producing respiratory distress due to the presence of pneumonia and respiratory collapse, which can lead to the death of the patient. .

The virus can affect any age, but the most vulnerable age are older adults with or without underlying pathology. Treatment is initially symptomatic, but warrants evaluation. Unfortunately, there is currently no vaccine available for this pathology.

Surely after discovering them, you will think about it next time! But it is not about not being able to give kisses, but about taking a series of measures that we will comment on.

1 - Do not kiss the child's mouth directly, especially in babies under 3 months.

2 - Before holding your baby, wash your hands well with soap and water.

3 - Maintain good hygiene of your mouth and that of your child with proper tooth brushing.

4 - Do not share spoons, cutlery, straws or glasses.

5 - Do not clean the pacifier or nipples with your own saliva.

6 - Discuss it with the family so that everyone abides by the preventive measures.

7 - Do not allow strangers to carry and much less kiss your child.

The woman who gave birth to octets: between selfishness and obsession?

The woman who gave birth to octets: between selfishness and obsession?

The story of the woman who was born eight weeks ago is well known. She is the second woman in history to give birth to 8 children at a time. The woman is 33 years old, is from California, lives alone with her parents and has 6 other children.
Her case became famous overnight, but many came to accuse her of selfishness and even obsessive behavior.
The woman's mother said her daughter underwent fertility treatments to become pregnant. The mother of the caretakers also conceived the other children through in vitro fertilization and stated that she loves being a mother and that she always dreamed of having a large family.
The case has aroused endless discussions mainly because of over-publicizing.
But experts accuse the media of approaching a single perspective on the event. The American Society for Reproductive Medicine is of the opinion that the world should be glad that the birth went well, but the incident should not be regarded as a triumph of medicine because a birth of octopuses involves many things.
What many people do not know is that women have a poor financial condition and are thought to have a compulsive-obsessive disorder. It seems that the mother-of-two was obsessed even from adolescence to having children and becoming a mother.
People accused her of showing selfishness and lack of responsibility when she decided to become pregnant, although she still had 6 children with whom she had a hard time.
The babies were born prematurely, 9 weeks before term. Premature birth can cause many health complications for them, especially in the long term. The mother is also not exempt from problems because such a large pregnancy can cause anemia, exhaustion s.a.m.d.
Having a child is a wonderful thing, but before you venture to have one, two, three or more children, think about the following:

  • If you allow yourself financially to grow it and give it a decent life.
  • If the pregnancy will endanger your health.
  • If the baby is born healthy taking into account your lifestyle and your medical history.
  • If you manage to grow it yourself, if you do not have a life partner and resort to in vitro fertilization.

  • Question:

    - My boy is 8 months old and I was advised to have a surgical breakdown because the phimosis looks very tight. I mention that the urinary stream is thick and urinates without problems. I do not agree with this intervention and I would like to know if there is a chance that this phimosis will resolve itself with the enlargement of the glans and if I can detect a possible urinary tract infection. Thank you!

    Answer:

Dear lady, phimosis is defined as the impossibility of descaling the glans after the age of two years, due to a preputial fibrous ring. Presence predisposes to dysuric disorders (urinary), local infections (balanopostitis) and discomforts the development of the penis.

Dear lady, phimosis is defined as the impossibility of descaling the glans after the age of two years, due to a preputial fibrous ring. Presence predisposes to dysuric disorders (urinary), local infections (balanopostitis) and discomforts the development of the penis.
There is a possibility that your baby does not have phimosis but balanopreputional adhesions, which is resolved by a manual decalcation performed by the pediatric surgeon under local anesthesia, while the real phimosis is operated.
Considering that he is 8 months old and does not have any associated disorders, you can postpone the decalotation, trying to bathe yourself daily, as much as the foreskin allows. With time there is the possibility to complete the complete descaling and no longer need the intervention of the doctor.

Regarding the urinary tract infection, it should be suspected if the child has frequent, painful urination, with turbid urine and foul odor and fever.

Even if you have heard everywhere about various treatments for beautiful and everlasting skin, you do not always know what products to use from the amalgam of ostentatious advertisements that surround you. It would be best to focus more on the ingredients that really have the potential to bring you service and less on the brands in stores.

Here are some anti-aging skin tricks to consider in your beauty ritual.

    Keep your skin safe

It is never too late to start protecting your skin from the harmful ultraviolet rays you are exposed to. Use as much as possible lotions with protective factor, because nothing ages your skin more than the action of ultraviolet. Once you have learned how to keep your skin in the shelter, you can remedy as much as possible the harm already produced.

    Full antioxidants

Choose only creams, lotions and salts rich in antioxidants and vitamin C, such as those containing green tea and extract of feluric acid. In this way, the skin stays young by eliminating free radicals and reducing inflammation that leads to wrinkle formation.

    Exfoliation

Exfoliation is a pampering of the skin that would be ideal to practice twice a week with a special lotion composed of lactic or glycolic acid. Removal of dead cells from the surface allows the development of new ones from the lower layer. Skip this step if you have very sensitive skin or acne.

    Hydration

Moisturizing the skin after you have thoroughly cleansed it is essential for a healthy, supple and fresh look. For dry skin, cholesterol-based creams, fatty acids and ceramides are required in the fight against wrinkles. Although it sounds paradoxical, the greater the amount of water in the cream, the less moisturizing it is.

    Retinoids

At night it is the right time for skin cell regeneration, so it is advisable to use a lotion with retinoids, substances derived from vitamin A that can cure certain symptoms of aging such as fine lines, depigmentation or dilated pores.

    Consume Omega-3 fatty acids

Omega 3 fatty acids existing in fish (salmon), nuts, peanuts, flax seeds and rape keep your skin young. Why? Because their anti-inflammatory effect prevents the collagen level in the skin from decreasing, respectively the formation of unpleasant wrinkles.
